Some quality reduction is necessary for a much smaller file, but SmallMB preserves as much detail as the target allows.
SmallMB targets 200 KB or slightly below it. Most portals enforce a maximum size, so a result under the limit is normally accepted.
A 200 KB image leaves more room for facial detail and text while remaining suitable for many job, exam and document portals.
SmallMB tests JPEG quality and, when necessary, image dimensions until the result fits at or below your target. Very small targets need stronger visual reduction.
